Does anyone know how to get the ink from one of those Gel pens out of clothing? Penny got some on a blouse of hers and I think its set in. Ive tried that Vanish stuff, had it in soak for hours, but it still wont come out.. She loves the blouse, so I would like to be able to get this stain out for her, but Im not having much joy at the moment..

Bye for now.

Todd.

Never mind Jenny, to be honest I think its set in completely now.. I did wonder, if I put some kitchen paper behind and in front of the stain, and stick an iron on and see if it melted the gel.. There isnt alot of ink on the blouse, its only a thin line, but when you know its there it stands out more doesnt it..

Take care, speak to you soon.

Todd..

Hi Todd you could try nothing to lose. You are right if you know its there you think everyone else can see it. I once had a mark on a sweater I could still see it once I had washed it but no one else seemed to beable too!!!!!

I googled in "gel ink" and "removal" and came up with a number of websites etc.

see: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/in...val-how-to-remove-ink-stains.html

http://www.goclean.com/ballpointink.htm says: Remember if the ink stain is caused from a Gel Ink pen chances are the ink will not come off. These inks were formulated not to be acid washed off a check and are tougher than magic marker to remove.

another says: Q. How do I remove gel ink from clothing?
Gel ink might be difficult to remove completely. We recommend the following:
Dissolve some hand soap in water and slowly tap the stained clothing with it.
Rinse under running water and repeat if neccessary.

And there seems to be agreement not to rinse under hot water as that stains it

The name "Amodex" is worth googling too

Thanks for this Carol, I think the stain has set in permanently, so I think we will have to give up on this one.

Thanks to all for your replies, it is appreciated..

TTFN.

Todd.
