Aled's GMS producer, Hilary RobinsonIf you ever wondered what Aled’s ‘right-hand girl’ at GMS looks like, namely Hilary Robinson, Aled’s producer, if you take a peek at the following address http://www.littletigerpress.com/lyndall/authill.htm and scroll down to Hilary’s name in the list and click on it, you’ll not only see her happy smiling face, but you might also be surprised and as delighted as I was to have one of her other talents revealed.Hilary’s skill, (other than being the consummate producer for Aled’s show) all began when she wanted to help her little 2 yr old daughter overcome her fear of spiders. She had written for children’s TV, so she thought she’d give writing children’s books a go. Well, she’s given it more than a go…she has a number of titles published already, with more being in the pipeline for appraisal, plus loads of ideas for more books stored in her head. I’m rather chuffed to report that not only is Hilary a published author in the UK, but here in Australia, one of her books….her latest, in fact, “The Princess’s Secret Sleepover” has just been taken on board here in Australia by ‘Koala Books’ and is now available here as well as in the UK. Now there’s something extra-special about this book. Hilary has dedicated it to Aled’s little Emilia, who, as Hilary has explained, “absolutely loves pink and princesses apparently”. A lovely tribute to Emilia and no doubt a source of great pride for Aled and Claire. I have a passion for good children’s books in my career as a Preschool (Nursery) teacher, so I’ll be dashing off to my favourite bookshop on Saturday to buy “The Princess’s Secret Sleepover” and any of Hilary’s other books that they have, plus I’m planning to buy more as presents for family and friends. I hope no-one in the bookshops notices, but I may even do what I do in music shops with Aled’s CDs. I have a tendency, you see, to rearrange his CDs to the front of the racks! There may well be the books by Hilary Robinson finding their way to the front of bookshelves as well.
