Christmas is coming, and our Aled is getting busier.....  Razz

Sunday 2nd
* Good Morning Sunday – BBC radio 2 – 7.00 – 9.00 This week Aled's guests are Kate Rusby, Laura Wright and Rabbi Pete Tobias.
* Aled Jones - Radio Wales: 10.00 – 11.00. Aled is in conversation with writer, broadcaster, film director, historian and ex-Monty Python star Terry Jones.
* Songs of Praise; BBC1 5.15.-.5.50 : Aled marks the beginning of the Advent countdown to Christmas with a visit to Hexham Abbey. Traditional Advent hymns including 'O Come, O Come Emmanuel', 'Hills of the North' and 'Rejoice' are sung by members of the Royal School of Church Music, currently celebrating its 80th anniversary. Meet the girl who faced incredible odds to pursue a musical career. Enjoy seasonal Advent music from BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of 2006, William Dutton.
* The Choir BBC - radio 3 – 6.30 – 8.00  As part of The Choir's choral tour of the British Isles, Aled Jones explores the scene in Ireland. He is joined by conductors Donal Doherty, Head of Music Services for the Western Education and Library Board, and arts consultant Liz Powell, for a taste of the foremost choirs, composers and competitions in Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland.
Thursday 6th: Alan Titchmarsh Show: ITV 2.30 – 3.30 – recording BBC TV Centre, White city + Paul Potts and Rolf Harris.  Pre record for Christmas show
Friday 7th: Friday Night is Music Night: BBC radio2 7.30 – 9.15: In a live concert from the Mermaid in London, Aled presents the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Martin Yates, with guests Paul Potts, winner of Britain's Got Talent, and Teatro, an all male line-up who sing songs from the musicals.

Sunday 9th
* Good Morning Sunday – BBC radio 2 – 7.00 – 9.00 Aled says Good Morning Sunday to award-winning folk singer Kate Rusby, who sings a traditional Yorkshire carol on the programme.
He is also joined by the first band to form on Facebook – Blake.
* Aled Jones - Radio Wales: 10.00 – 11.00. Aled shares music and conversation with Len Goodman.
* The Choir BBC - radio 3 – 6.30 – 8.00 Aled is joined by Renaissance specialist Peter Phillips, who explains why polyphony upset the Church authorities and how, after the Council of Trent was convened, composers such as Palestrina and Jacopus de Kerle got round their subsequent demand for simplicity in music. With specially recorded examples provided by the BBC Singers. Plus there's news from Philip Ledger, fresh from the British premiere of his Requiem and with several other choral commissions in the pipeline.
Friday 14th December: Friday Night is Music Night: BBC radio2 7.30 – 9.15: Aled presents the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Roderick Dunk, in a live concert from the Mermaid in London.  Guests include celebrated Icelandic tenor Cortes, violinist Jennifer Pike, and the BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers of 2007 - Charlotte McKechnie from Glasgow and Joel Whitewood from Kent.

Sunday 16th
* Good Morning Sunday – BBC radio 2 – 7.00 – 9.00 Aled chats to Coronation Street favourite William Roache, Philip Shepherd who is leading the Liverpool Nativity, soon to feature on BBC 3 and to celebrate Charles Wesley's 300th anniversary, author of a book on hymns, Rupert Christiansen.
* Aled Jones - Radio Wales: 10.00 – 11.00. Aled shares music and conversation with TV presenter Penny Smith
* Songs of Praise – BBC1 5.00. - 5.50: Aled introduces the Songs of Praise Big Sing Christmas Party from the Royal Albert Hall. The special guests include Connie Fisher singing her favourite carol, In the Bleak Midwinter; Ray Quinn performing White Christmas, and dancers Camilla Dallerup and Ian Waite.
A choir of one thousand voices leads a packed auditorium of Songs of Praise viewers in some of the best-loved Christmas carols, including Joy to the World, Hark! the Herald Angels Sing and The Twelve Days of Christmas

Monday 17th: Breakfast show BBC1 6.00 - 9.15 (probably after 8.00) Aled appearing discussing the singing of carols
Tuesday 18th: Alan Titchmarsh Show ITV 3.00. - 4.00: Join Alan for some more chat and Christmas cheer. Guests today include Rolf Harris and Ulrika Jonsson, and there's a special performance from Aled Jones and the Fron Male Voice Choir. Plus, some top tips on what wine to buy this Christmas. (However at the recording the Fron were not there, Aled was backed by the local primary school, and there was no wine!!)
Thursday 20th: Birmingham Symphony Hall: 7.30 – 9.30 : Festive Favourites with Aled

Join the CBSO for its traditional festive fun and frolics, hosted by broadcaster and performer Aled Jones, who will present a selection of his chosen Christmas stories and readings, and sing a couple of his seasonal favourites. Sunday 23rd
* Good Morning Sunday – BBC radio 2 – 7.00 – 9.00 Aled says Good Morning Sunday to Ben Schott, author of Schott's Miscellanies and Schott's Almanacs. Schott looks back at the events and highlights of 2007.
Also joining Aled in the studio are the BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers Of The Year – Charlotte Louise McKechnie and Joel Whitewood – who won the accolade in October.  
Charlotte (15), from Giffnock South Church in Scotland, and Joel (12), from Canterbury Cathedral in Kent, won the coveted titles at the final held at St Paul's Cathedral in London
* Aled Jones - Radio Wales: 10.00 – 11.00.
* The Choir BBC - radio 3 – 6.30 – 8.00 Aled has some seasonal music to celebrate the culmination of The Choir's year-long Sing to the Nation feature and is joined in the studio by John Rutter, whose choral music has become synonymous with Christ
Monday 24th: 11.00pm-12.00midnight BBC radio 2: Carols By Candlelight. Aled presents the Chapter House Choir with a selection of carols, old and new, from the atmospheric setting of York Minster's 13th-century Chapter House. The musical director is Stephen Williams and the organist is Philip Moore.
Tuesday 25th: BBC radio 2 – 7.00. – 9.00 Christmas with Aled – live.  Aled roasts chestnuts with veteran pop star Cliff Richard.  They are joined by Canon Ann Easter  
Friday 28th December: Friday Night is Music Night: BBC radio2 7.30 – 9.15: Aled looks back to the best performances from the past 12 months on the show

Sunday 30th
* Good Morning Sunday – BBC radio 2 – 7.00 – 9.00 pre-record. Today’s year-end edition features  2007 guest highlights, including one-time teen idol Donny Osmond, novelist and Buddhist Emily Maguire, actress  Maureen Lipman and, performing in the studio, singer / song-writer Beth Neilsen Chapman  
* Aled Jones - Radio Wales: 10.00 – 11.00.
* The Choir BBC - radio 3 – 6.30 – 8.00 Aled is joined by conductor Richard Hickox
